FREE Summit County Collection Day For Hazardous Waste, Saturday May 7th, at Canyons Parking Lot. 9am – 1pm for Summit County residents. Extended hours!
Materials accepted include: paints, solvents, wood thinners strippers, and stains; antifreeze, used motor oil, brake and transmission fluid, car batteries, gasoline, and diesel; bleach, drain openers, and oven cleaners; fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and insect repellents; pool chemicals; rechargeable batteries; thermostats, thermometers, and smoke detectors; propane, and white fuel cylinders; compact fluorescent lightbulbs (CFLs); old medications; and film developing chemicals and acids.
Electronic waste including cell phones, pagers, iPods, computers, CPUs, keyboards, scanners, stereos, television sets, laptops, and monitors are accepted Monday – Saturday 8am – 4pm at the Summit Canyon Landfill, Three Mile Canyon, or at Recycle Utah. Refrigerators and mattresses are accepted at The Summit County Landfill, Three Mile Canyon for a recycling fee.
Pharmaceuticals are accepted at the Park City Police Department pharmaceutical drop-box, located at 2060 Park Avenue in Park City, available 24/7. Pharmaceuticals may also be dropped off at the Summit County Sheriff’s Office drop-box, located at 6300 North Silver Creek Drive in Park City, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. By responsibly disposing your medications, you protect wildlife, the environment, and the health of your loved ones. Keeping medications, and other household hazardous waste out of the landfill and water systems is our first responsibility to the environment.
